ABOUT ME

When Ashley isn’t writing or editing, she spends her days exercising and coaching. She considers the gym as her second home and family. As a sufferer of various chronic conditions, she has grown passionate about managing her health through lifestyle changes and helping others do the same. She enjoys anything involving nature, although she detests bugs with as much fervor as her love for the outdoors.

” I am below you because you are perfection. But I am above you because I allow that perfection to come to fruition.” –Father Mathias,  Mercy

BDSM & THE LIFESTYLE

A burning question for Ashley’s readers is: Does Ashley write from personal experience?
Everything in her books are works of pure fiction (all the priests she’s come across when she dares to step inside of a church have sadly made no advances), but she does write from a place of knowledge founded on experience. She participates in the lifestyle and since her emancipation from the ‘nilla world, as some kinksters like to refer to anything that exists outside the realm of BDSM, has been lucky enough to experience a majority of the broad spectrum of the human experience.
If there is an acorn of truth in her work, it would be the potential for healing and growth that can be found in healthy dynamics and experiences. She believes people tend to label everything in black and white, good and bad… but sometimes pain can be cathartic and pleasure can be found in places one would have never thought to look. It’s this sentiment that she brings to her stories and that breathes life into the characters she creates.

What readers are saying ...

Mercy is a must read! I couldn't put this book down. The characters, the story, the spicy scenes, and the need to know what happens next captivated me. Mercy is written in a way that is easy to relate to the characters and to get involved in what is happening to them. The ties between the relationships, religion and human emotion is brilliant. I highly recommend reading Mercy!

A true depiction of BDSM . OMG!! Yes, I know the book is about a priest, and I probably shouldn’t say OMG, but I truly can’t not! I was lucky enough to meet Miss Matthews at a book signing event. Trust me, she’s more lovely in person than she is in the virtual world. MERCY was the first book I’ve read by Ashley Matthews. It won’t be the last. Her understanding and ability to show how BDSM can affect and change us to become a stronger person by letting go of toxic beliefs is pure perfection. I hope to see Ashley again at the next book signing. Thank you for a lovely story I won’t forget.
